Introduction
The Parksepa seniors actively participate in a life discussion group (literally "world life discussion group"), led by Kaisa Niilo.
The discussion group meets in the basement at Kanariku 7. They gather around the 20th of every month to do something exciting and share news about life and current events.
History
In 2023, they hosted visits from the Setomaa over-chief Jane Vabarna, Riigikogu (Estonian Parliament) member Liina Kersna, and Võru Parish Council Chairman Georg Ruuda, with whom they discussed the year's activities and other topics. Additionally, Angela Järvpõld, Head of the Social Department from the Võru Parish Government, introduced the seniors to the new Social Welfare Act. Wellness designer Egle Kõva spoke to the seniors about food choices to support health and well-being, and together they even tried preparing different flavors. Discussion topics ranged from toadstools to apples from their own gardens, and from dancing to drinking water.
In 2024, they analyzed Estonian politics and life both among themselves and with Riigikogu member Mait Klassen. Under the guidance of Veiko Park, they made sushi and tasty dishes from autumn produce, visited the Parksepa Youth Center, felted soaps, and celebrated the Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and Christmas.
In 2025, the Parksepa seniors hosted Toomas Lokk, with whom they discussed memory games (quizzes). With physiotherapist Enely Jaani from South Estonian Hospital, they did exercises to increase muscle tone and focused on breathing, specifically inflating a balloon to expand their lungs, followed by exercises using the balloons. In April, a fun grilling workshop led by Veiko Park took place at the Parksepa outdoor stage.
